People Defined A person should be in Bowler TRAC only once even though they might have multiple roles. (A role is created for each league, event, organization, affinity group, and household a person is part of.) The Removing Duplicates option is used to merge and delete people who are in Bowler TRAC more than one time.
Purpose of People People are entered in Bowler TRAC so marketing programs can be targeted to those people. Historical data is also accumulated.
Adding People Automatically To add people automatically, follow the procedures to receive data from the National Data Services database (see Chapter 1 in your User Guide). The automatic download will include only sanctioned bowlers.
Adding People Manually If a person has a National ID and data has been downloaded using the National Data Services database, the National ID will appear. It is not possible to manually input the National ID. The Name Source field is used to keep track of how a person became part of Bowler TRAC. Examples include the following: National data services, member of a household, league bowler, and member of an organization.
The Affinity Groups, Household, and Organization tabs features will be detailed on the help screens associated with the tab in future chapters.) The Game Profile is used to target market to people. A profile can be established for each different game type. Examples of different game types include bowling, volleyball, and pool. The Game Profile is also used to match leagues and events to people.
Deleting People Deleting a person will delete people from Bowler TRAC.
If there is no data in Bowler TRAC Manually add additional people following the above instructions. If necessary, refer to the sample People Data Entry Sheet in the Appendix of your Bowler TRAC User Guide. Make sure some of the people have the same address. This will allow households to be established in Bowler TRAC.

Household
Households Defined A household is a group of people living at the same address. Households are uniquely identified by their primary contact. The primary contact is a member of the household. Since primary contacts are used to uniquely identify the household, a person can be the primary contact of only one household.
Examples of members of a household include spouses, children, grandchildren, etc. A person can be different type of member in more than one household. For example, a person could be the child of more than one household (if the parents are divorced).
Purpose of Households Households are used in target marketing to identify people who live with other people. For example, with households, you can target fathers with sons between the ages of 6 and 12. Households are also used for phone solicitations to gather together all phone calls for every person in the same household. This is helpful because it will allow you to make one phone call to a household where you have targeted more than one person, rather than making separate phone calls to each person.
Function The person can be added or removed from a household by using the Add Household and Remove Household buttons. By using the Add Member and Remove Member buttons a different person can be added or removed from the selected household.

To illustrate, assume the following: A user wishes to execute a marketing plan for a bowling and dinner package on Friday nights. The target group of the marketing plan includes all restaurant patrons.
